The Condition One project explores the use of virtual and mixed-reality (VR/MR) technology for firearms safety education and training. Designed to enhance firearms training systems, or the FATS system, the system interfaces with a VR environment for students and instructors to get a better understanding of their training progress.

Mockups of the second iteration, one with the internal wiring and components showing, and one showing the external design.

We created a training environment and simulation in Unity 3D, and connected the Arduino firearm we created to the system. This way, we were able to use the physical device in-game.

My role on the project was primarily game development and creation of mockups and assets.

The first prototype, which was built on an Arduino Nano and Nerf platform.

A 3D-printed version of the final prototype.
